Pokémon Champions Doubles (VGC-Style)

Pokémon Champions Doubles is a strategic 2-versus-2 turn-based battle format where each player brings a team of six Pokémon and selects four to use after Team Preview (Bring 6, Pick 4). At the start of the battle, each player sends out two Pokémon simultaneously. Every turn, each Pokémon independently chooses an action, such as using a move, switching out, or protecting itself. Once both players have locked in their decisions, all actions resolve according to move priority, abilities, items, speed, and field effects.

Because four Pokémon are active at once, positioning and teamwork are crucial—players combine moves like Tailwind, Fake Out, Follow Me, Helping Hand, Protect, or spread attacks such as Earthquake and Hyper Voice to control the battlefield. Weather, terrain, stat boosts, status conditions, and abilities can affect both allies and opponents, making synergy between teammates more important than individual strength. The battle continues until one player has no usable Pokémon remaining. High-level Doubles gameplay emphasizes prediction, resource management, speed control, board positioning, and coordinated strategies rather than simply dealing the most damage.
